Booklets

Two booklets have been developed as part of the RHU FAME project by the Famiréa group, composed of Professor Elie Azoulay, Head of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Saint-Louis Hospital, Dr. Nancy Kentish-Barnes, sociologist, Dr. Frédéric Pochard, psychiatrist, and psychologist Anne Renet, in collaboration with illustrator Clémence Buu, who created custom illustrations.

Two independent working groups were formed to develop these booklets:

  • A universal welcome booklet for the relatives of patients hospitalized in intensive care. This booklet includes a few pages that can be personalized by each unit, as well as general information about the ICU environment, the roles of healthcare providers, commonly used terms, potential roles for family members, and self-care advice.
  • An end-of-life booklet to support loved ones during the patient’s end-of-life process. It provides information on how this process unfolds, self-care recommendations, and guidance to ensure that the process aligns as closely as possible with the patient’s and their family’s values and wishes.
